DISPATCH STAFF REPORT
STARKVILLE — An eight-month investigation into marijuana trafficking led city and county officials to conduct a raid and arrest four people Friday.
The Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department made the arrests in cooperation with the Starkville Police Department at 215 N. Montgomery St. after a search warrant was obtained. All of those arrested in the incident listed the address as their residence.
Officials netted about four ounces of marijuana and $11,000 in cash during the raid.
“Anytime we can get drugs off the street it’s good for the community,” said Chief Deputy George Carrithers of the sheriff’s department.
Colby L. Brister, 24, was charged with three counts of sale of marijuana greater than 30 grams, conspiracy to sell marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Brister’s bond was set at $25,000. He was released at 11:30 a.m. Monday.
